Tarifa (Spain), 6 September 2006 – After his win in
Canada Aaron Hadlow is unbeatable at the moment
as the Briton dominates the Single Elimination of the bwin.com Kitesurf
Pro. As for the women, favourite Grzelinska had to hand over first place
to Bruna Kajiya. The highly rated Spaniard Pulido only managed fourth.
Hadlow flies through
Defeated three times in a row Aaron Hadlow returned to victory in
Quebec. The PKRA World Champion is about to start another winning
streak as he won today’s Single Elimination of the bwin.com Kitesurf
Pro. In his heats he defeated, amongst others, Yuri Zoon, Mikael Blomvall
and the strong local Cesar Portas, last year’s winner of the Kitesurf event
sponsored by online gaming provider bwin.
Kajiya defeats Grzelinska
Ania Grzelinska came to Tarifa as top favourite. Her mission: To take over
first place in the PKRA overall rankings from absent leader Kristin Boese.
On the first day of competition, however, the plan did not yet unfold:
Bruna Kajiya, winner of the World Tour event in Germany, was the
strongest rider today. Spanish Wonderkid Gisela Pulido finished the Single
Elimination on a disappointing note. She lost in the penultimate round to
Kajiya and to Winkowska from Poland in the loser’s final.
Premiere for the Big Air Tricks
In the late afternoon at Valdevaqueros beach the spectators were
enthralled by the new competition format Big Air Tricks. In this event the
height of the jump is the overriding factor in comparision to the
technicality of the manoeuver. First place winners where Ruben Lenten
and Ania Grzelinska. Further Big Air Trick competitions will be held in the
following days of the bwin.com Kitesurf Pro weather conditions
permitting.

BWIN.COM KITESURF PRO: FREESTYLE
DECISIONS POSTPONED

Double Elimination abandoned for today. 15
year old German advances as legend Herraiz
crashes out of the competition.
Tarifa (Spain), 7 September 2006 – While the
women did not feature on the water at all on day 3
of the bwin.com Kitesurf Pro 16 heats of the men’s competition did take
place. Young German Mario Rodwald won both of his duels and advanced
to the third round of the double elimination and was, by doing so, more
successful than spanish veteran kiter Jaime Herraiz.
Freestyle winners to be crowned on Friday
The Double Elimination is a second chance for all who has to exit the
Single Elimination at an early stage. A labourious but in no way hopeless
ride through several heats offers the opportunity to take on the best of
the Single Elimination again. Due to changing winds the competition was
stopped a few times in the morning and was then abandoned at about
15:30 although the weather conditions where stable again at this time.
The continuation is scheduled for Friday, 11:00 local time.
Rodwald follows Holley and Romeu
Mario Rodwald from Northern Germany was in very good form today. After
his loss in round 1 yesterday the 15 year old newcomer (No. 51 of the
PKRA rankings) beat Ciastula and Hutter today. With these wins he
followed the well known Top 15 Riders Holley (Spain) and Romeu (Brazil)
to the third round of the World Tour Event. There he will go head-to-head
with Madison van Heurck from the US Virgin Islands, who beat Spaniard
Jaime Herraiz earlier today.

BWIN.COM KITESURF PRO: BRAZILIAN KAJIYA
WINS FREESTYLE COMPETITION

Second victory for Bruna Kajiya on the PKRA
Word Tour, Men’s contest postponed in final
heat. Lenten comes in fourth.
Tarifa (Spain), 8 September 2006 – After earning
first place in Germany Bruna Kajiya secures her
second title on the PKRA World Tour. The Men’s Final between Aaron
Hadlow and Kevin Langeree had to be abondoned due to failing wind
conditions. Ruben Lenten from the Netherlands takes fourth place.
Kajiya beats Grzelinska again
No changes in comparision to the Single Elimination in today’s Double
Elimination of the Women’s Freestyle. Again the promising Spaniard Gisela
Pulido lost to Karolina Winkoska. And again top favourite Ania Grzelinska
had to hand over first place to Bruna Kajiya in the final. Nevertheless the
trip to the south of Spain paid off for the polish Rider: With second place
she took over, for the time being, the lead in the PKRA World Tour overall
classification.
Rodwald, Tyushkevich, Lenten strong
Young German Mario Rodwald, Russian Tysushkevich and Ruben Lenten
were the first to impress in today’s Men’s Double Elimination. Rodwald
won another heat before losing to Onieva and came in ninth on his second
appearance on the World Tour. Tyushkevich beat Soto and Lhote securing
him sixth place. Lenten, who defeated the Russian as well as Mikael
Blomvall from Sweden, won fourth place.
Langeree makes it to the final
In what was supposed to be the decisive heat Kevin Langeree took
triumph over World Champion Aaron Hadlow. But due to competition
regulations the World’s No. 1 got another chance to maintain his position.
This heat, however, was cancelled because of insufficient wind and
postponed to Saturday. Aside from the Men’s Freestyle decider there will
be more Exhibitions on the agenda at Valdevaqueros beach tomorrow.

AARON HADLOW DEFENDS WORLD TITLE WITH
WIN AT BWIN.COM KITESURF PRO

Briton Hadlow holds down Langeree and wins
World Championship 2006. Pulido and Lenten
top today’s Big Air Tricks.
Tarifa (Spain), 9 September 2006 – Aaron Hadlow
makes his comeback to beat Langeree in the second
final and wins the Freestyle of the bwin.com Kitesurf Pro. The second
round of Big Air Tricks was dominated by 12 year old Pulido and once
again Ruben Lenten.
Hadlow World Champion again
Aaron Hadlow displayed minor weaknesses in the first final of the Double
Elimination yesterday but was back on form in today’s re-match putting
Netherlands Langeree – after all No. 2 of the PKRA World Tour – in his
place. By doing so Hadlow not only won the Freestyle but becomes the
undisputed Champion of the PKRA 2006, despite the outstanding Tour
stop in Brazil. Langeree’s fellow countryman Youri Zoon also made it on
the podium of the bwin.com Kitesurf Pro.
Lenten flies high
After the cracking Men’s Freestyle another round of Big Air Tricks was held
at Valdevaqueros beach. The new competition format, where the height of
the jumps make up 70 % of the rating, seems custom made for Ruben
Lenten. Jumps up to 15 meters secured the Flying Dutchman, as on
Wednesday, first place ahead of Alex Soto. Local hero Jaime Herraiz
managed two fourth places earning him third in the overall ranking just
behind the 19 year old from the Dominican Republic.
Pulido misses out Top 3
Although the Women’s Big Air Tricks were won by Gisela Pulido today, the
young Spaniard, underachiving in the Freestyle, didn’t make it in the Top
3: The overall win went to the new World Tour leader Grzelinska just
ahead of Karolina Winkowska and today’s second Angela Peral.
